When I am creating a hole through a series of United bodies, the body becomes hollow

When I am creating a hole through a series of United bodies, the body becomes hollow. The end surface which the hole is passing through is divided into two separate surfaces, making one of the divided surfaces "see through" and the body becomes hollow. In drafting everything seems ok but not in modelling. Do anybody know what I can do about this?

An update: If I do any extrude or revolve, anything that split the end surface into two separate surfaces, the body becomes hollow. So it seems it doesnt have anything to do with the actual hole feature.
